Abstract:
To achieve our energy and climate policy goals, the buildings sector needs to decarbonize rapidly over the coming years. But will there be enough well-trained specialists? And are we attracting enough women into the sector? In this webinar, the EnR network brings together two initiatives that are aiming to tackle these questions:
Part 1 – the Italian “5 Steps as an Engineer” initiative, carried out in the framework of the national Training and Information Programme on Energy Efficiency “Italy in Class A”, that targets female high school students, providing a career guidance course focusing on energy-related STEM disciplines as well as broader workplace skills; and
Part 2 – the Swiss “Education offensive for the construction sector”, which bring together the building industry, educational institutions and the federal government to implement a roadmap covering 32 measures to ensure that there will be enough qualified specialists in the sector.
